You Don’t Need to Overcome Fear. Just Ignore it

Here you have 3 keys to start your new practice of ignoring your fears
A lot of people have the expectation that whomever is into spirituality (whatever that means), must have resolved most of their human issues. Specially fear. Ha! That’s a good one :-)
Yes, I’ve been into spirituality all my life. For as long as I can remember, I was a seeker. You know what I mean?
Have you ever heard about the famous «spiritual search»? Well, that’s what I mean.
Nevertheless at some point…
I dropped the stickiness of spiritual seeking, and moved into the excitement, freedom & joy of an active expansion of consciousness journey.
And still… I feel fear (with a twist, though).
I’ve overcome many tough and challenging situations in my life. I’ve consciously shifted realities (to even better ones every time), manifested awesome experiences my mind thought impossible for me to get to live, and nowadays I flow in life in a way I didn’t believe I’d ever do.
I like to say I need a new birth certificate due to how different I am now from the person I once was ;-)
Let’s say the expansion of consciousness path has paid off for me.
Still…
I feel fear from time to time.
And then…
I choose to ignore it.
Because in the same way we’re choosing to focus on the fear… we can choose to ignore it. Have you ever thought about it?
Both choices require similar effort, but we’ve been trained so well to accept and justify fear into our lives, that we hardly notice how much energy we’re investing —anyway—into feeling fear.
Truth is we don’t need to invest energy on being stronger than our fear, neither we need to push harder to overcome it. You can. But you don’t needto.
What we need is…
…to go back into alignment, by focusing deliberately on what we resonate the most.
And basically we do that, by following the breadcrumb trail of our true excitement. One moment at a time.
The Flower of Life is one of the oldest sacred symbols known to man. It is a geometrical shape that is made up of multiple overlapping circles of the same size
Fear what?
Few years ago, I started using fear as a reminder of my own misalignment. Nothing more than that. It’s not an evil dragon. It’s not a punishment. It’s not a sign of weakness.
You might want to use this as your new mantra:
Fear is just a reminder.
That perspective has worked wonders for me, and for many of my coachingclients.
I now use fear as I use Siri on my iPhone, or the low gas light on my car’s dashboard. I can choose to pay attention to it, decide what I want to do with the feedback, move in that direction, thank the fear, and let it go. No crisis. No attachments.
Yes, to ignore the fear it’s a freaking decision.
Of course, once you’ve decided to no longer look in the direction you don’t resonate with—meaning, fear—, you have to deliberately look in the direction of your resonance.
These 3 steps are crucial.
1. Take Care of Your Vibe
My first steps when I feel the fear starting to show up, are always vibrational. I’m not just saying it. This is of paramount importance.
For that, I use whatever helps me raise the awareness of my infinite spiritual beingness as opposed to my limited human experience—who feels at the mercy of the circumstances.
Whatever connects me to the field of infinite possibilities, joy, pleasure, trust, love, excitement.
It might be listening to a music I love, taking a walk in nature, reading something joyful or inspiring, taking a shower, performing a solo dance show in my living room, playing with my cats… (preferably stay away from internet & social media though).
2. Use Your Imagination
Imagination is the most amazing—and underestimated—superpower ever.
After I have taken care of my vibrational state of being, I’m ready to start imagining my most exciting vision.
Do you feel the “most exciting vision” is too far from your emotional reach? Ok try the closest one to it.
Still too much to ask? Well, what about just imagining a teeny tiny better image than the vision your fear was conjuring up? Maybe you might need baby steps. Ok. Nothing wrong with that. Give yourself what you need.
Start picturing the next best version of the circumstance that triggered your fear. Look to step up at least one level.
How would it look to be not so fearful? Get it? Ok. Stay there for a while. Allow yourself to feeeeel it. To stay in that space of possibility.
Find the silver lining.
3. Explore Dynamically
Once you’ve managed to move the focus away from the fear—not from an energy of avoidance or fear itself, but from the deliberate use of your power of choosing to focus on what truly resonates—you’ll feel safe in the knowingness that something higher is in charge.
If that’s the case, you might be able to start an honest process of dynamic exploration (pay close attention to those 2 words in bold) by asking yourself a very simple question:
Is this fear absolutely true?
This simple but powerful question, if you allow yourself to be still with it for a while… might change it all.
dynamic exploration is absolutely required, because you need to explore as you move, as you take inspired action based on whatever your imagination offered.
Follow the breadcrumb trail of your excitement, because THAT’s the emotional signal of your alignment with your individual true essence… the compass that points to your individual true north.
